Spotsylvania County is located between Stafford County and the City of Fredericksburg (north) and Caroline County (south). It’s best known as the ‘Crossroads of the Civil War’ after the Battles of Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, The Wilderness, and Spotsylvania Court House between the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia and the Union Army of the Potomac. The National Park Service offers local residents and visitors to experience the Civil War through the Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania National Military Park.
