Manassas Virginia Restaurants
We enjoy these restaurants when we are conducting business in Manassas. We also leave our office in Woodbridge to have dinner in Old Town Manassas. The bottom line: We think the restaurants listed below are worth going out of you way.
- Carmello’s A fantastic wine list and changing menu to support spring, summer, fall, and winter. Regardless of what time of year you visit, the kitchen and service staff meets expectations by paying attention to details. Carmello’s is in the Manassas Historic District at the intersection of Center Street and Battle Street next to the Opera House. The restaurant offers a changing seasonal menu of fresh ingredients leading to recognition of the Best in Fine Dining in Prince William County (2013) by Prince William Today (InsideNova.com). The wine list has more than 100 imported Portuguese wines leading to Wine Spectator Magazine recognition with the 2010-2013 Award of Excellence.
- CJ Finz Raw Bar & Grille Manassas has needed a surf and turf restaurant with a raw bar for a long time. The drink and food selections are seasonal so do your homework before making a special trip. This family owned restaurant has a second floor deck overlooking the Harris Pavilion. The menu at CJ Finz offers oysters on the half shell, spiced shrimp, steamed claws, snow crab legs, sauteed mussels, and shrimp cocktail as raw bar items. Appetizers include: Oysters Rockefeller, crab fries, crab stuffed mushrooms, blackened beef tips, and other items. The salads look amazing and the sandwich menu features Ahi tuna tacos, lobster roll, salmon BLT, chili lime shrimp tacos, and crab cake sandwich. The entrees during warmer months include New York Strip and crab cake, lobster macaroni and cheese, shrimp and grits, blackened Mahi Mahi, cedar plank salmon, crab stuffed rock fish, crab cakes, and fried oyster platter. We enjoyed the food and drink selections enough to post them with our recommendation. If you’re in the mood for specialty cocktails, and a large selection of specialty drinks, bottled and draft beers, this restaurant should be on your short list.
- City Grille Restaurant and Bar This meets the needs for great burgers, steaks, and happy hour. The menu features prime rib, steaks and ribs, chicken and pasta, seafood, many sandwiches, and one-half pound handcrafted burgers. The Sunday brunch buffet is offered from 10 a. m. to 2 p. m. Everything is good.
- Foster’s Grille A simple American menu: Burgers, wings, fries, beer, shakes, and salads. When we attend events at Loy E. Harris Pavilion we often stop here.
- Grounds Central Station A popular meeting place and a great coffee shop. Better than Starbucks. We meet clients and spend time here between appointments.
Mackey’s American Pub Mackey’s has two levels. The restaurant is on the main level with a full-service bar, and the sports bar is on the second floor. Smoking is permitted inside on the first floor. Mackey’s has an extensive menu highlighted by seafood, ribs, sandwiches, and breakfast all day. - Monza has developed a great happy hour crowd with an outside deck and patio dining to enjoy more than 100 bottled craft beer choices. Several Dogfish Head and Devil’s Backbone IPA beers are available on tap. Menu choices include brick oven pizzas, home-made pastas, salads, sandwiches, and deserts. Signature entrees are ribs, chicken, and salmon. Monza has a casual atmosphere and hosts live music on weekends. Sunday brunch is from 10:30 a. m. to 2:30 p. m.
- Okra’s Cajun Creole Restaurant is at the intersection of Center Street and Battle Street in the historic district of the City of Manassas. Third Base Restaurant was here before Okra’s Louisiana Bistro. The building was completed in 1904 as Peoples National Bank and survived the 1905 Manassas business district fire. Okra’s has a seasonal menu to serve fresh ingredients throughout the year. Menu favorites are craw fish, gator bites, Po’Boy oyster sandwich, chicken gumbo, Cajun deviled eggs, and Tabasco mixed grill. Red beans and rice, cornbread, and bread pudding are also worth mentioning. Getting a seat for happy hour is difficult. Getting into the restaurant during Mardi Gras is impossible.
- Philadelphia Tavern Authentic Philadelphia cheese steak sandwiches, Philly Chili made with Yuengling, Philadelphia craft beers, and Philadelphia Eagles televised games. The bar is usually full with regulars and fans of the Philadelphia Eagles. The other highlights here are South Philly Hoagies, Tavern Sandwiches, and burgers, seafood, and pasta dishes. It certainly has the atmosphere of a Philadelphia bar with loud fans cheering for Philadelphia sports franchises.
- The Bone Yes! A barbecue restaurant in Old town Manassas. The Bone offers pulled pork, beef brisket, smoked turkey, pulled barbecue chicken, hickory chicken, St. Louis ribs, pulled pork nachos, barbecue stuffed potatoes, barbecue salads, family barbecue packs, and THE BONE BARBECUE TRUCK for catering special events.
- Tony’s New York Style Pizza Tony’s has a full Italian menu. Every menu item looks fantastic. But we’ve never made it past the pizza. Tony’s kitchen rivals the pizza we’ve had in Little Italy, New York. Very casual dining and good prices.
If you want us to make time for lunch, invite us to any of these restaurants. Hopefully you share our opinions and have the same experience using this list as a dining guide. Keep us in mind when you’re buying or selling a home in the Manassas area.
