This private course is known as ‘Arnold Palmer’s Virginia Masterpiece’ in the gated community of Fawn Lake on the eastern edge of the Wilderness Battlefield in Spotsylvania County. This 18 hole regulation course measures 7,010 yards from the longest tees, and is a par 72 with a 74.1 course rating and 138 slope rating. It has zoysia grass fairways, a 16 tee driving range, and opened in 1995. Fawn lake Country Club has tournaments for the the men’s and women’s associations, couple’s twilight golf, and a couples championship. The junior program has clinics and tournaments, summer camp, and lessons. Other amenities at the country club are the Harbor Club Restaurant offering lunch, dinner, children’s, cocktail, and wine menus.
The general amenities of this 288-acre gated community include a 9,400 square feet clubhouse, pool facility with a competition pool, wading pool, and whirlpool hot tub; multi-purpose fitness room, weight room, boating, swimming, fishing, water skiing, beach and pavilion, volleyball court, play areas, tennis courts, basketball court, softball field, soccer field, dog park, wilderness trail, pole barn for private functions, fly fishing pond, garden plots, community dock and boat launch area, community boat and recreational vehicle storage.

The 18-hole regulation course at Fredericksburg Country Club measures 6,705 from the back tees. It is a par 72 with course rating of 70.8 and slope rating of 121. The front 9 holes were built in 1925, and the back 9 were constructed in 1961. The main building was an 1819 mansion and remains the centerpiece of the country club housing the 19th Hole Bar and Grill, golf pro shop, dining facilities. A 2002 renovation of the course added greens with A-4 bent grass and the fairways are a combination of fescue and Bermuda grass. Amenities include a 20-tee driving range, practice putting green, and short game practice areas. There are golf programs for ladies, men, seniors, juniors, couples, and junior programs. Other programs at Fredericksburg Country Clubs include tennis and swimming. The country club has an Olympic swimming pool which the Buccaneers youth swim team uses to compete in the Rappahannock Area Swim League. The tennis facility has 4 indoor courts, 3 outdoor courts, 2 clay courts, indoor lounge and tennis pro shop.

The golf course in the Lake of the Woods subdivision opened in 1971 and is part of the Lake of the Woods Country Club. This is an 18 hole regulation course, par 71, measuring 6,554 yards with Bermuda grass fairways, 72.2 course rating, and 128 slope rating. The Cafe at the Woods Center offers golfers breakfast and lunch. Amenities for residents at Lake of the Woods include boating, campground, clubhouse, community center, equestrian center, fitness center, lakes and marinas, parks, swimming pools, tennis courts, walking trails.

Lee’s Hill Golf Club opened in Fall 1993 and has a full service pro shop, grill, outdoor pavilion, private parties, and tournaments. This is a 18 hole championship course designed by Bill Love with a 72.4 rating and 128 slope rating. It measures 6,834 yards. Lessons individuals and groups are offered as well as different clinics. Junior golf camps are available for players 17 and under. Lee’s Hill Golf Club offers different rates for juniors, military-fire-police, public, and player’s pass holders. Range passes are also available. Membership rates vary for full single memberships, full family memberships, cart plans, weekday single memberships, weekday family memberships, and corporate rates. There are several leagues at Lee’s hill including a Ladies League, Tuesday Night Twilight League, Skirmish on the Hill (Friday at 3 p. m.), Senior League, and Winter League.

Meadows Farms Golf Course was built in 1996 in a collection of 3 golf courses allowing the golfer to select which 18-holes to play. As an 18-hole course it measures 6,871 yards with a par 72, and course rating of 72.7 and slope rating of 129. The course layout follows:
- Island Green Nine Course: 3,096 yards, par 35.
- Longest Hole Nine Course: 3.909 yards, par 37.
- Waterfall Nine Course: 2,962, par 35.
The longest hole on this course is a par 6 and plays 841 yards from the longest tee. This hole is listed by Guinness World Records as the Longest Hole in the United States. The greens are bent grass and fairways are rye grass. Amenities include a golf pro shop, and Red Bull Grill full service restaurant. Meadows Farms Golf Course is 16 miles west of Fredericksburg.

Rapidan Golf Club was built in 1997 as an 18 hole regulation par 72 course measuring 6,832 yards with a 73.6 course rating and 136 slope rating. The greens are bent grass and the fairways are Bermuda grass. Rapidan Golf Club has Monday night men’s league and Wednesday night ladies league.
