Stafford County Regional Airport serves small commercial, military and private aircraft.
Stafford Regional Airport (ICAO: KRMN, FAA LID: RMN) is owned and operated by the Stafford Regional Airport Authority. The airport is next to Interstate 95 (exit 136) Centreport Parkway 40 miles south of Washington, D. C. and 60 miles north of Richmond. The airport encompasses 566 acres and the runway measures 5,000 feet by 100 feet. It serves small private, commercial, and military aircraft.

Stafford County Public Schools There are 17 elementary schools, 8 middle schools, 5 high schools, and Governor’s School in Stafford County. This building was built in 1926 as Stafford High School. It remained a high school until 1952 when Stafford High School and Falmouth High School combined student bodies at the current Edward E. Drew Jr. Middle School building on U. S. Route 1 in Falmouth. This was the only high school in Stafford County until North Stafford High School opened in 1981. The Alvin York Bandy School Administration Complex now serves as a modern facility for Stafford County Public Schools.

The occupation of Stafford County during the Civil War by the Union Army of the Potomac has been described as unnecessary destruction. By the conclusion of the third occupation by Union troops, Stafford County was described as completely treeless with cemeteries, civilian homes, and public buildings either completely destroyed or heavily damaged as Union troops attempted to erase the history belonging to Confederate communities. The Stafford County Court House was ransacked and records burned. Anyone (including civilians) caught in possession of court and land records was threatened to face a firing squad. Historians cite the recovery of Stafford County from the Civil War occurring just prior to the Second World War.
